Your membership of the Library Eindhoven is for a period of one year.
After this year your membership can be terminated monthly.

Joining the library · You will receive your personal library pass on presentation of a valid ID. · We accept: passport, driver’s license, municipal identity card, senior citizen’s pass, public transport season ticket, moped license or Euro<26 Youth Card. · Your library pass will be valid for 12 months. Rates are determined every year. The most recent rates can be found in the information brochure and on www.bibliotheekeindhoven.nl. · In order to prevent misuse of your pass, please report loss or theft of the library pass as soon as possible. Until then, you, the cardholder, are accountable. You can buy a replacing library pass. · You are a member of Bibliotheek Eindhoven until written resignation, with the exception of subscription S. A period of notice of one month is applied.
Membership discounts · If you are a student at a University or a University of Applied Sciences, you can get an L subscription at a reduced rate. Ask for details. · If you have a senior citizen’s pass, you can make use of a reduced rate. · If you already are a member of another library in the Province of Noord-Brabant, you can become a member of Bibliotheek Eindhoven at a reduced rate. Ask for details. · Inhabitants of Eindhoven with a minimum income can make use of a discount arrangement. Ask for details at the city hall, tel 040-238 58 98.
Borrowing · Loan periods and rates can be found in the information brochure and on www.bibliotheekeindhoven.nl. · You can borrow materials with your library pass in all ten branches of Bibliotheek Eindhoven. · You can borrow materials for a longer period of time than the appointed loan period. You will pay an overdue rate per day. You can borrow materials for a maximum of three months. · Please be satisfied of the good shape and completeness of the materials before borrowing. You will be held responsible for all materials borrowed with your library pass.
Renewal · Materials can be renewed in three different ways: at the counter, by phone or via Mijn bibliotheek at www.bibliotheekeindhoven.nl. You will pay the fee (if applicable) at your next visit. You can renew your materials twice. You will pay the overdue rate at your next visit. · If materials are reserved by another member, renewal is not possible. · Renewal counts as a loan.
Returning · Borrowed materials can be returned to all branches of Bibliotheek Eindhoven. If you return your materials late, you will be charged an overdue rate. Shouldn’t you pay this within two months, you will be sent a bill. · You will be held responsible for all costs the library makes due to no or late returns or reparation of borrowed materials. You will receive a bill, put up with administrative costs. Should materials be irreparably damaged or lost, you will have to pay 40 – 100% of the replacement value, depending on the age of the materials. · Should bills not be settled, a collection agency will be brought in, for which you will have to pay the costs. · Should bills not be settled, your library pass will be blocked.
Reservations · If materials are lent out, you can reserve them via the website or at the counter. You will be charged a fee (with the exception of subscription XL). You can also request materials of other libraries. Ask for details.
Privacy statement · Bibliotheek Eindhoven records personal data for the purpose of loan administration, the delivery of products and services, and the communication towards users about activities, products and services of the library. · Bibliotheek Eindhoven is responsible for the protection of personal data of its borrowers, according to the regulations and conditions as set in the Personal Data Protection Act. · Borrowers have the right to see, (let) correct, complete or remove their recorded data. · Bibliotheek Eindhoven does not use personal data for purposes other than those originally intended and will not hand them to third parties. Exceptions can be made on account of legal authorities of police and justice to the requisition of identifying and/or user data under the terms of the prevention, tracing and persecution of a criminal offence.
Other regulations · The library is open to the public. To ensure a pleasant visit, we have some house rules. · In the event of breach of these rules, the borrower can be denied use of the library. · All materials are lent for private use only. · As determined in the Copyright Act, it is prohibited to record or copy lent materials or show these in public. The borrower is held liable. · The library cannot be held responsible for damage to equipment as a result of the use of the materials. · Your library pass will be blocked if your contribution is not paid in time or if your outstanding fee is too high. · The records of the library are the basis for determining the default of the customer. · The management can entirely or partly close the library on on beforehand announced days and hours, deviating from the fixed opening hours. · All rights to changes in these conditions and fares are reserved. · In all cases not covered by the conditions, the manager or his/her replacement decides, without abatement to the law.
